Kobe passes Wilt for fourth on NBA scoring list
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Kobe Bryant has passed fellow Los Angeles Lakers great Wilt Chamberlain for fourth place on the NBA's career scoring list.Bryant made a pull-up jumper from the free throw line with 7:54
remaining in the second quarter to eclipse Chamberlain's mark of 31,419
points. He tied Chamberlain 22 seconds earlier with a layup. Bryant entered the game four points behind Chamberlain. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar tops the NBA's career scoring list with 38,387
points, Karl Malone is second with 36,928 and Michael Jordan is third
with 32,292. The 34-year-old Bryant is in his 17th season - all with the Lakers
Rockets' Harden sits out with sore right foot
HOUSTON (AP) -- James Harden sat out Houston's game
against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday with what the Rockets said
was a sore right foot.Harden sprained his right ankle in a Feb. 12 road
victory at Golden State and did not play the following game. The only
other game he has missed this season also involved a right ankle sprain
that caused him to miss a Dec. 10 meeting against San Antonio.
Hawks' Pachulia to have season-ending surgery
ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta Hawks center Zaza Pachulia will undergo surgery on his sore right Achilles and miss the rest of the season. The Hawks said the 29-year-old Pachulia
is scheduled for surgery Wednesday in Charlotte, N.C. The expected
recovery time is approximately six months, meaning the Hawks will be
without another valuable member of their bench heading into the
playoffs. The team already lost guard Lou Williams to a season-ending
knee injury.
